Ahmed, the sheik’s son, and Yasmin, the poor dancer, meet in secret at a ruined caravanserai in the desert each night. However, their budding love is crossed when the girl’s family kidnap and torture the prince in the hope of banking a hefty ransom. One of the gang, Ghabah, who has long yearned for Yasmin, convinces Ahmed that the girl deliberately led him into the trap. Thus once released the injured pride of the prince forces him to turn his back on the girl. Vilma Bánky, the first Hungarian international movie star, dazzles at the side of screen idol Rudolph Valentino in this still exciting, fast-paced movie packed with adventure, exotic locations, love, indeed, violence and eroticism.
