Born in 1957 in Kecskemét. Graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in 1984 as a student of Zoltán Fábri. He won several international awards with his thesis films at short film festivals. Hardly a graduate, he was commissioned by the German ZDF Television to make a film in co-production with the Béla Balázs Studio.
He made his first feature film, 'Shadow on the Snow' in 1991. His films received numerous significant Hungarian and international awards. In 1997 he has received the Béla Balázs Award.
'After the Day Before', his feature made in 2004 was honoured with the Main Prize of the 35th Hungarian Film Week.
