The Festival of European Films was first organised in 1995 to present remarkable Turkish and European films to the film lovers in various cities. Being a member of the European Coordination of Film Festivals, the Festival visits different cities to present its program during four weeks. Within the last eight years, the Festival visited Ankara, Bursa, Çanakkale, Diyarbakýr, Drama (Greece), Eskiţehir, Gaziantep, Ýstanbul, Ýzmir and Mersin.

The Festival presents each year 10-12 recent feature films and 40-50 recent short films also classical films in Best of Europe, Love Films from Europe and Retrospectives sections.
