Full-length films, independent features, documentaries, as well as short films are screened at the international festival in Manila, Philippines.

The first Cinemanila International Film Festival was launched in July 1999 and became a venue for the screening of international critically-acclaimed films. The ideals behind the conception of Cinemanila are similar to the ideals behind the Sundance Film Festival, founded and presided by actor Robert Redford, which seeks to develop artists of independent vision, both national and international.
