Melbourne International Animation Festival

Australia's largest and most diverse presenter of animation. MIAF generally shows around 250-300 films in both competitive and themed programs, founded in 2000.

MIAF has grown significantly as an annual event since its launch at the old Treasury Cinema in 2000. The festival has attracted increasing international respect and recognition while progressing the unique visions of talented animators and their teams worldwide. We currently receive an incredible 2,000+ submissions from more than 40 countries and will screen over 300 films during the week long festival, making it one of Melbourne's largest screen culture events and one of the world's largest festivals of its kind.
