Princely Reprieve
(A herceg haladéka)
feature, 35mm, 90 minutes, 1:1.85
PREMIER (HUNGARY): 2005.
A model in her late thirties is shot at by a mugger but something unbelievable happens to her just before the bullet is able to bury itself in her heart.
The Prince of Hell appears who offers Alida the chance to regain her life for one minute.
If she can manage to convince anyone to die in her place then she will be freed.
Alida doesn’t understand at first what this minute means but then she is confronted by the impossible.
One minute repeats over and over again with everything and everyone continually jumping back to how things were when the minute began while Alida experiences all that occurs. She tries in vain to talk to people, seek out her friends and visit her parents because one minute simply isn’t enough time for her to communicate what it is she has to say and she keeps having to start again from the beginning.
She is eventually stunned to realise that she is unable to convince anyone to give their life for her. She gives up and resigns herself to death when someone unexpectedly hurries to her aid.www.aherceghaladeka.hu
